Unique moments unfold in one of the holiest places on earth, the town of Liska, where heartfelt prayers offered at the grave of the revered tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l, echo with blessings.

The prayer calls for restoration for the sick, financial blessings for the impoverished, and peace and health for the people of Israel and all people everywhere. The town of Liska has always been cherished in the Jewish community, notably for the Liska Rebbe’s creation of a famous synagogue that ranked among Europe’s largest at that time. Jewish communities keep the memory of the town and the tzadik alive, as many make pilgrimages here to seek blessings in the spirit of the Kivrei Tzadikim tradition.

Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער), better known as Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן) and the celebrated author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה), was a significant Hasidic leader whose teachings remain influential among his followers today. The Rebbe’s deep Torah knowledge and Hasidic wisdom were shaped by his time as a disciple of the famous Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), also known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה). The enduring disciple relationship is vibrant in Hasidic communities, notably among Satmar adherents, who pay tribute to the memories of Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

Hasidic communities around the world, whether in Borough Park, Williamsburg, or any part of Israel, hold the town of Liska and the merit of the Liska Rebbe in the highest regard. Recognized as one of the key Kivrei Tzadikim locations, the Liska cemetery is a place where prayers are infused with unique strength through the tzadik's merit. On the anniversary of the Rebbe's passing, or yahrzeit (יארצייט), a multitude of people journeys here to pray and seek blessings for their families and the wider community.

The spiritual legacy of the Liska Rebbe, embodied in works such as Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), continues to inspire and guide Jewish communities globally. Liska is a sacred land that embodies past miracles and blessings while continuing to serve as a site where prayers, steeped in deep faith, resonate and bestow blessings on all visitors.
